Meet the Team
We're born and buttered in Cornwall, and we love living here. From the rugged cliffs of the coast to the bustling food scene across our towns, Cornwall is packed with vibrant culture, incredible independent makers, and unbeatable flavours.
At The Cornish Company, we exist to celebrate contemporary Cornwall and share its finest treasures beyond our borders. We work directly with brilliant local producers to curate authentic tastes, whether we're sending freshly baked cream teas across the UK or assembling thoughtfully packed Cornish hampers for special celebrations.
Behind every order, every carefully wrapped scone, and every freshly crimped pasty is a local team passionate about genuine Cornish food culture. Get to know the brothers who started it all.
Meet Tom Woodley, Managing Director:

If you're asking Tom, there's only one true way to pause a busy day: a fresh Cornish scone, a generous spoonful of strawberry jam, topped with a dollop of clotted cream, and a proper cup of tea with a biscuit on the side.
Tom grew up on a humble family farm in the heart of Cornwall, where an appreciation for local produce was part of daily life. Driven by a relentless spirit of adventure, he spent several years travelling the globe, sampling baked goods and local delicacies across continents to see if anything could match the simple perfection of a Cornish cream tea.
The verdict? Nothing came close.
When he isn't scouring the county for new independent food producers to feature in our range of Cornish food and drink, you might catch Tom in the skies above Cornwall. As a qualified skydiving coach, he spends his weekends leaping out of planes high above our stunning coastline. Give him a wave if you spot him up there - he's still working on perfecting the drop for mid-air pasty deliveries!
Meet James Woodley, Operations Director:

Wherever James is in the office, you can be fairly certain a warm pasty isn't far away. As our resident pasty extraordinaire, James takes quality testing very seriously - purely for the benefit of our customers, of course.
James considers it his personal mission to ensure that the very best of those pasties and all our other Cornish treasures make their way beyond the Tamar River into homes nationwide.
As the head of logistics and operations, James oversees the entire journey of your chosen treats from our Cornish base to your front door. He works closely with our courier partners so that our hand-crimped Cornish pasties arrive chilled, fresh, and ready to bake or enjoy. In the tiny, unlikely event your box ever encounters a delay, James is the man to hold responsible - though with his meticulous packing systems, your treats will almost certainly arrive right on schedule.
Born, Buttered, and Always Jam First
Tom and James started The Cornish Company with a simple mission: to share the authentic taste of modern Cornwall with food lovers everywhere. While we like to keep things lighthearted and easygoing, we take our food heritage seriously.
We work closely with trusted regional bakers, dairies, and artisan producers to ensure every item meets our high standards. And while we're always open to discovering new flavours, we hold fast to one non-negotiable Cornish scone rule: it's jam on first, followed by clotted cream. Always. No debate.
